*******************************************************************

Animal Rescue Mission of Canada is a "No-Kill" animal shelter as well as an adoption centre.  We protects any and all animals in our care from the fear of euthanasia and abuse.  With our "No-Kill" policy, we have successfully saved close to 21 000 adoptable animals from being destroyed.  Animal Rescue Mission was Founded January 1st 1970 and is one of the oldest "No-Kill" animal shelters in the City of Toronto.  In the past two years alone our adoption centre has placed over 1073 innocent pets into loving homes.  As great as that is, we still have numerous animals awaiting adoption.

What is the "NO-KILL" policy?

Every year hundrededs of defenseless baby puppies, kittens and other domestic pets are needlessly destroyed through pounds and vets as a way of controlling the exploading animal population.  Many pet owners fail to get their animals spayed or neutered and as a result, unwanted litters are born faster than they can be placed into homes.  Most of which being destroyed before six weeks of age.  These unwanted litters are euthanized without a chance of a full life.

THAT'S WHAT MAKES A.R.M. DIFFERENT!

Our "No-Kill" policy defends the lives of domestic pets and allows these unwanted animals time to find new homes without the fear of being destroyed.  We do NOT have time limits on the pets in our care and refuses to euthanize a single animal due to the fact that no one wants them at the time.  Some young animals stay at our shelter for just a few short days, and others as long as a year.  These animals are givin a second chance at life and new-found homes, thanks to the generosity and support of pet lovers and individuals like you.

We need your help to help them!

The Animal Rescue Mission of Canada Inc. is a private, non-profit organization that does not receive Government funding.  We rely on our members and supporters who donate to help keep these defenseless pets alive.

THIS MIGHT BE OUR LAST YEAR

This just might be our last year of saving animals lives due to our poor financial situation and ever rising overhead costs.

****************************************************************

The Animal Rescue Mission of Canada Inc. was originally foundedin 1970 as a Non-Profit, No Kill Animal Rescue Organization.

Since opening its doors 34 years ago, without much fanfare orpublicity, The Mission, in the eyes of some, has become an"Animal Welfare" Institution in the City of Toronto.

The Mission has rescued some 21,000 unwanted and/or abused dogs, cats, and other animals.

Each of these 21,000 animals has found a New Forever Home through the Mission's Shelter Office.

The Mission firmly believes that to stem the tide of Unwanted dogs and cats is to have each Rescued Dog and Cat and their puppies and kittens be spayed or neutered upon adoption.

The Animal Rescue Mission of Canada Inc. receives No Government Funding.

While Animal Adoption Fee help to cover some expenses the Mission incurs for the Health Care and Feeding of the Rescued Animals, The Mission relies on Ongoing and/or One time Individual or Corporate Donations to cover Building Rents, Taxes, Heat and Light and Transpiration, in order to keep the Shelter operating.

Over the past 34 years, The Mission, has encountered many changes including:

Economic ups and downs                                                                                        Changes in Society's Perception of Animal Welfare Higher Basic Operating Expenses

To Continue to Operate The Mission has had to change as well.

Over the past 2 years the Mission has had to make some internal Organizational Changes plus deal with Economic Developments which have both contributed to a drop in Financial Support.

Through any and all changes many Puppies and Kittens and possibly Older Dogs and Cats have always been available for adoption.

Each Animal in the Mission's Adoption Program has been Vet Checked, Dewormed, and Vaccinated.

The Animal Rescue Missions of Canada Inc. invites all its former Contributors plus Anyone else, (Individual or Corporate), interested in Animal Welfare to support this

"Toronto Rescue Institution"

either though a One Time Donation or through the Mission's Monthly Planned Giving Program or Supporting the Mission's Thrift Store.

Each Loony or Toony donated will go along way in keeping The Mission's Doors open.
